As Wylands iconic associated figure, his works of the Humpback Whale have mesmerized collectors, and has been the most sought after of original works. Up for auction is this beautiful Humback Whale in a original watercolor. The piece has a black convex 1 3/4 inch gloss frame. The black linen concave scoop is 2 1/4 inches as well. The original piece measures 21"x30" and is considered a half sheet. The overall outside measurments are a huge 31"x40". It was mounted with Wylands framers at Mirage in Santa Ana. Wyland now seeks to complete his vision of 100 life size bronzes around the world; so needless to say, paintings will be less and less available.
